Confession is an intimidating prospect. Why would we ever share the things we're bad at? Why would we ever let anyone see our failures or weaknesses? Culturally, it doesn't make a lot of sense. Yet, in Nehemiah 9, that's exactly what we see God's people doing. The passage sets an important precedent for the church today; that there is blessing and freedom awaiting if we will confess our sins in the presence of God and one another.
